The December Luncheon of the Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce (SMCC) once again solidified its position as the Chamber’s largest networking event of the year. Held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Andiamo Warren, the festive gathering brought together hundreds of members, guests, and local leaders to celebrate the season and recognize outstanding contributions to the community. Attendees were treated to a special live performance of Christmas songs by Vegas legend Michael Carluccio, setting the perfect tone for this remarkable year-end celebration.

During the program, the Chamber proudly presented its 2024 Giving Report, highlighting contributions made by SMCC and its partners to benefit local nonprofits and initiatives. Notable December gifts included $5,000 from Northern Cross Capital Corporation to MCREST, $2,000 from People Driven Credit Union to Harvest Time Christian Fellowship, and $500 from Mike Garvonic to the Warren Community Foundation. This year, the Chamber distributed significant funds to organizations such as the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund, Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, and the Macomb County Winter Shelter, underscoring its ongoing commitment to fostering community growth and support.

The luncheon also celebrated outstanding individuals and businesses through the Chamber Awards, which recognized accomplishments in community service, business innovation, and leadership. Honorees included Julia Kaiser of People Driven Credit Union (Helping Hands Award), Nick Kelley of Elite Paint Home Renovations (Local Legacy Award), and Todd Stamper of Priority Waste (Inspiring Journey Award). These recipients and others were honored for their dedication, ingenuity, and lasting contributions to Southeast Michigan’s economic and social landscape.

The Chamber’s Political Action Coalition Report was presented, showcasing the results of its advocacy work during the 2024 election cycle. With an impressive 32 out of 37 endorsed candidates winning their races, the SMCC played a pivotal role in advancing business-friendly policies and strengthening partnerships with government leaders. Among the victorious candidates were John James and Lisa McClain for Congress and Anthony Forlini as Macomb County Clerk. These successes affirm the Chamber’s strategic approach to supporting leaders committed to regional prosperity.

The program concluded with a focus on the Chamber’s ongoing efforts, including $600,000 distributed by or through SMCC since 2019 and an exciting announcement about MCREST’s upcoming capital campaign for its Men’s Shelter. A raffle benefiting MCREST added to the festivities, offering attendees the chance to win a free month of billboard signage from 5 Star Outdoor.
